White Law Firm

Athur E. White, Jr. (Art) is a native of West Columbia, South Carolina.  He is the founder of White Law Firm and White Land Surveying. Art received his B.A. in Political Science from Newberry College in 1977 and his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington in 1980.  He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1980.

In addition to being a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Art is a member of the Lexington County Bar Association, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.                     

Mr. White is a retired Commander in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. In over 25-years of serving our nation, Commander White defended and held our service men and women to the conduct expected of them. With his time in the Navy, Art provided legal council in matters relating to Courts Martials before Military Tribunals along our Eastern Seaboard.

Aside from practicing law, Art is active in our community. He is the current Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop England Council 724. Art has served as the President of the Parent Teacher Association for Brookland-Cayce (BC) #1 Elementary School. From 1989-2003 Art was a member of the School Improvement Council for BC #1 Elementary School, Northside Middle School, and BC High-School. Mr. White also coached and served on the board of directors for the Cayce-West Columbia Dixie-Youth Baseball League.

Art has been married for 32-years to Cindy Knope White. They are the proud parents of 4 children: Polly, Artie, Ohlen and Caleb, and two grandchildren.
